C-tocin injection is a synthetic, long-acting oxytocin analogue used to prevent postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) by stimulating uterine contractions to prevent excessive bleeding after childbirth. It is a heat-stable alternative to oxytocin that can be administered with a single injection, it easier to use in settings without a cold chain and having a longer duration of action than oxytocin.
